We are in relationship with the church in the long haul. Indeed, we might argue that the only way we can make it for the long haul is together. This saying sums it up: “If you want to fast, go alone; but if you want to go far, go together.” We are in community as we journey, especially for the long haul.

Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost, Year A

Our call is to be the sign of those who are producing the fruit of the kin-dom. As we worship, we invite the Spirit to work in us and through us to become workers in the vineyard, producing the fruit of the kin-dom in ways that invite and encourage the body of Christ around us and the wider community of which we are a part.
