송구영신예배: A New Year’s Eve Service

송구영신예배는 한국어와 영어를 사용하는 회중을 위한 한영예배 자료로 권혁인 목사님이 쓰셨습니다. 이 예배는 한국어 회중과 영어 회중이 함께 예배드릴 때 사용할 수 있고, 각 회중이 따로 예배드릴 때도 사용할 수 있습니다.

집례자와 성가대의 입장이 예배의 순서에 포함된 경우, 회중이 다 함께 일어나 찬양한다. 입장이 없을 때는 회중 찬양 없이 피아노나 오르간 혹은 다른 악기로 연주해도 좋다.

예배로의 부름

지금부터 OOOO년을 마감하고 새로운 한 해를 맞이하는 송구영신예배를 시작합니다. 감사와 소망의 마음으로 이 거룩한 예식에 참여하시기를 바랍니다.

다 같이 기도하겠습니다.

“너희는 이전 일을 기억하지 말며 옛적 일을 생각하지 말라. 보라 내가 새 일을 행하리니 이제 나타낼 것이라”(이사야 43:18~19). “누구든지 그리스도 안에 있으면 새로운 피조물이라. 이전 것은 지나갔으니 보라 새 것이 되었도다”(고린도후서 5:17).

침묵 기도

지금은 잠시 눈을 감고, 올 한해 주신 하나님의 은혜에 대한 감사와 더불어 각자 침묵하며 참회하는 시간을 갖도록 하겠습니다. 우리가 죄를 고백하면 하나님은 신실하시고 의로우셔서, 우리의 죄를 용서해 주시고, 모든 불의에서 우리를 깨끗하게 해 주실 것입니다.

Let us pray.

“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth” (Isaiah 43:18-19 NRSV). “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV[1]).

Caring God, we thank you for guiding us in your grace through the challenges of the past year. As we approach the new year, we humbly ask for your abundant love and mercy. We offer this worship to you with hearts of gratitude and hope. May you receive it with joy and bestow heavenly blessings upon us. We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

CONFESSION OF SIN

God of love and forgiveness, we thank you for guiding us and providing our daily bread throughout the year _____. We confess that we have often strayed from the path you have laid out for us, following our own ways. Our actions have frequently fallen short of the teachings of Christ, and we have been tempted by pride and greed. We humbly acknowledge our sins committed in thought and deed, as well as our unfaithfulness and pride. SILENT PRAYER

l invite you to take a moment to close your eyes. In silence, let us reflect with gratitude for God’s grace throughout the past year and repent of our sins. When we confess our sins, God is faithful and just, and God will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

COMMENDATION

Now, we leave behind the past year and welcome the hopeful new year. In the coming year, many things will happen, but remember that God is in control of all things. The Lord has made you a light in the world to shine in the darkness. Dwell in the true light of life, Jesus Christ. Care for those who suffer, respect all people, rejoice in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, love the Lord with a joyful heart, and serve with a whole heart. The Spirit of life, who is the Holy Spirit, is always with you. When you act in faith, the Lord will make you faithful members of the church and saints. Amen.

Rev. Hyok In Kwon currently serves as the senior pastor at the Korean United Methodist Church of Santa Clara Valley within the California-Nevada Annual Conference. Originally from Korea, prior to heeding his spiritual calling, he held positions as a lecturer in sociology and ethics at a college and worked as a visiting researcher at a national research institute. Upon recognizing his calling, he relocated to the Pacific School of Religion at Berkeley to pursue a Master of Divinity program. He dedicated seventeen years of service to the Berkeley Korean United Methodist Church, during which time he also fulfilled the role of a campus pastor at PSR.
