성탄절예배: Christmas Day Service

성탄절예배는 한국어와 영어를 사용하는 회중을 위한 한영예배 자료로 정화영 목사님이 쓰셨습니다. 이 예배는 한국어 회중과 영어 회중이 함께 예배드릴 때 사용할 수 있고, 각 회중이 따로 예배드릴 때도 사용할 수 있습니다.

오늘은 하나님의 아들 우리 주 예수 그리스도가 탄생하신 날입니다. 주님의 탄생을 축하하기 위해 오신 여러분을 환영합니다. 다 함께 예배로의 부름으로 주님께 나아갑시다.

사랑이 가득하신 임마누엘 하나님, 오늘 예수의 탄생을 축하하며 함께 기쁨을 나누는 이 예배를 허락해 주심에 감사드립니다. 예수가 있기에 우리 세상에 참 소망이 가능하고, 예수의 빛으로 이 세상의 모든 어두움을 밝힐 수 있음을 믿습니다. 평화의 왕 되신 예수의 복음으로 다툼이 대화로, 고통이 평안으로, 생명을 죽이는 무기가 생명의 양식을 일구는 농기구로 변화되는 기적이 일어나게 하소서. 예수를 따르는 모든 이들이 빛과 소금이 되게 하소서. 이 추운 겨울, 집도 없고 방도 없이 가족을 돌보아야 하는 이 땅의 모든 난민에게 자비를 베푸소서. 우리가 가진 모든 자산, 지식, 경험을 온정이 필요한 이웃들과 나누게 인도하소서. 예수의 탄생을 맞아 우리 모두가 새롭게 태어나가 하소서. 예수의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.

PASTORAL PRAYER

Loving God, Emmanuel, we thank you for bringing us together to this worship to share the joy of Jesus’ birth. We celebrate that genuine hope entered our world with Jesus Christ. We rejoice that the light of Christ gives light to all darkness of our world. May the good news of Jesus, the prince of peace, transform fight into dialogue, suffering into peace, and the weapons of war into agricultural tools that yield life-giving food. May all who follow Jesus be the light and salt of the earth. Have mercy on the refugees, the homeless, and the needy who have no room to rest in this cold winter. Guide us to share all our resources, knowledge, and experiences with our neighbors who need love and compassion. May we be reborn on this Christmas day. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Rev. Dr. Hwa-Young Chong is an elder in the United Methodist Church. She serves as district superintendent of the Prairie North District of the Northern Illinois Conference. Dr. Chong received her Ph.D. from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Theological and Historical Studies (major) and Liturgical Studies (minor). She is passionate about pastoral ministry.
