사랑의 하나님, 대강절 네 번째 주일을 맞이하여 감사의 기도를 드립니다. 사랑이 부족한 우리의 삶에 예수를 보내시고 넘치도록 풍요롭고 끝이 없이 영원한 사랑을 주셔서 감사합니다. 우리가 주님께 받은 그 사랑을 넓고 깊게 나눌 수 있도록 인도하여 주소서. 그리하여 우리의 증언과 전도를 통해 많은 이들이 신앙 공동체에 함께 할 수 있도록 인도해 주소서. 주님의 사랑의 힘으로 그 어떤 어려움도 극복할 수 있음을 알게 하소서. 믿음으로 불신을 이기게 하고 사랑으로 미움을 극복하고 신뢰로 상처를 치유하게 하소서. 사랑으로 새 생명을 주시는 우리 주 예수 그리스도 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

ADVENT PRAYER

Loving God, we long for love on this fourth Sunday in Advent. We are grateful that you have sent Jesus to give us love overflowing and endless. Guide us to share the love we have received from you, wide and deep. We pray more people will find a community of faith through our witness and outreach. Help us know that we can overcome any difficulties and challenges with the power of your love. Help us to know that faith can overcome unbelief, love is stronger than hatred, and trust will heal pains. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord who gives us new life. Amen.

Rev. Dr. Hwa-Young Chong is an elder in the United Methodist Church. She serves as district superintendent of the Prairie North District of the Northern Illinois Conference. Dr. Chong received her Ph.D. from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Theological and Historical Studies (major) and Liturgical Studies (minor). She is passionate about pastoral ministry. She also writes and teaches on spirituality, theology, and leadership.
