대강절 기도

은혜의 하나님, 대강절 세 번째 주일을 맞이하여 주님이 주시는 기쁨에 감사합니다. 그동안 우리는 물질, 권세, 지위 등을 통해 세상의 쾌락을 따랐음을 회개합니다. 잘못된 가치를 추구하며 허무한 삶을 살던 우리에게 새 생명을 주시고 참된 길을 걷게 인도하시니 감사합니다. 이제 이 기쁜 마음으로 성탄을 기다립니다. 올해의 성탄절에 우리가 기다림을 통해 더 큰 신앙의 성숙을 경험할 수 있도록 인도하소서. 우리 주 예수 그리스도 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

Advent Prayer

Gracious God, on this third Sunday in Advent, we give you thanks for the joy you bring into our lives. We confess that we have sometimes been blinded by the pleasures of the world by pursuing material success, power to dominate others, and social positions. We have failed to live a meaningful life, but you have given us new life and guided us to a path of genuine joy. Guide us to a deeper and more mature faith, as we wait for the birth of Jesus. We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Rev. Dr. Hwa-Young Chong is an elder in the United Methodist Church. She serves as district superintendent of the Prairie North District of the Northern Illinois Conference. Dr. Chong received her Ph.D. from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Theological and Historical Studies (major) and Liturgical Studies (minor). She is passionate about pastoral ministry. She also writes and teaches on spirituality, theology, and leadership.
