Second Sunday of Advent, Year B

Maybe peace and righteousness can’t meet without hope to guide them. I think if we can answer this question, we are well on our way to infusing worship with opportunities to listen for God speaking peace among us and calling us to speak peace to our world.

Offertory Prayer

Peace-speaking God, we come longing to hear your voice again—your word of mercy, your promise of restoration. Receive these gifts as signs of our trust that your steadfast love and faithfulness are already at work among us. Where we have wandered, guide us back. Where we have grown weary, revive us. Where division has taken hold, let righteousness and peace meet again through us. Use what we offer to help your church sing the old songs of faith with new conviction and to live as people through whom your peace is spoken into the world. In hope and gratitude, we give ourselves and these gifts to you. Amen. (Psalm 85:1-2, 8-13)
