Master Jesus

This hymn celebrates the four-fold work of Jesus Christ in working for our salvation: (the outline comes from Gabriel and Dorothy Fackre, in their book, The Christian Story). We praise Jesus:

1. As an example and teacher of God's way (John 1:1-5, I Peter 2:20, 21, John 13:12-17)
2. As suffering servant to forgive us (John 1:29, 36; Luke 23:34, II Cor. 5:21, I Pet 1:17-21)
3. As victor over evil forces that bedevil us (Mt. 4:1-11, 12:22-29, 16:18, Col 2:13-15)
4. As God's eternal presence within us (John 14:15-20, 10:27-30, 20:19-23, Mt. 28:16-20
