Consultation of Scriptural Authority and the Nature of God's Revelation

n December 1999 in Nashville, the Discipleship Ministries and the General Commission on Christian Unity and Interreligious Concerns jointly sponsored a Consultation on Scriptural Authority and the Nature of God’s Revelation. The participants in those dialogues concluded in a paper titled, In Search of Unity, that much of the debate in The United Methodist Church on homosexuality hinges on how one reads the Bible and how one understands God’s continuing revelation.
