Birthday Song

Words: Charles Wesley, 1755
Music: tune, TRUST AND OBEY, by Daniel Towner, 1887

United Methodist pastor and hymn writer Nickolas Campbell has combined a Charles Wesley hymn text with a favorite hymn tune to give us a new song to celebrate a birthday. Wesley's text, "Come away to the skies, my beloved arise," was written in 1755 as a birthday celebration for his wife. Nickolas Campbell has selected the tune and added the "Happy Birthday" refrain.
