Arise, Shine

Words: Isaiah 60:1
Music: ARISE, Taylor Burton-Edwards and Jackson Henry

This short, cyclic song is intended for use on Epiphany Sunday, when Isaiah 60:1-6 is featured as the Old Testament reading for the day. The melody and words are intended to be sung repetitively and can function quite well as a slow, meditative procession. The lilting accompaniment can be played on piano or adapted for organ and guitar. If other instrumentalists are available, invite them to play by doubling the melody or improvising upon the simple chord progression. Assign the vocal parts ad lib to members of a choir or the congregation to sing, or invite singers to find their own harmonies.
