The donor, or someone designated to present the instrument, stands before the congregation and says:

We present this instrument to be consecrated
to the glory of almighty God and for service in this congregation
[in loving memory (honor) of Name ].

The pastor and people respond:

It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, O Most High,

to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
and your faithfulness at night,

to the music of the lute and the harp,
to the melody of the lyre.

For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;
at the works of your hands I sing for joy.

All sing the Gloria Patri or other doxology.

Dedicatory music is played on the instrument(s) to be consecrated.
