A Prayer for Vision

God,
As the prophet has said,
We are at great risk of perishing
For lack of vision.

We cannot locate ourselves in your larger plans.
We cannot see where the church is going.
Or even where we are going in the next few years (or days).

Give us eyes to see
Your great plans for all of humanity.
Give us ears to hear
the cries of people who yearn -- even faint -- for a glimpse of you.
