The Crises with Children at the Border

By Craig Kennet Miller

The news about what is happening at the border with children and their families has exploded over the last few days. After Attorney General Jeff Session quoted Romans 13 to justify separating children from their parents, numerous groups and people have condemned his statements.

To get to the bottom of what is really going on with the separation of children from their parents at the border, this podcast features Dottie Escobedo-Frank, who gives us a first-hand look at what is going on with asylum-seeking families. Dottie is the pastor of Catalina United Methodist Church in Tucson, AZ and former District Superintendent of the South District in the Desert-Southwest Conference. Dottie will be co-teaching the Restart Track at SCD 2018 San Diego which is August 15-18.

These asylum-seeking families have already gone through great trauma and they come to our borders expecting at least some safety. Instead, they face more horror than they could have ever imagined, being separated from their children. Its just not right. We must do something about this. br Dottie Escobedo-Frank, Pastor of Catalina UMC, Tucson, AZbr
