Worship Matters: Episode 44 - Where We Are Today

By Cynthia Wilson

In this episode of the Worship Matters podcast, the worship team discusses things to consider in the time of transition out of the COVID-19 pandemic. What questions ought we ask as we make our plans, or continue our task of shifting into in-person worship? The team raises both logistical and pastoral issues for consideration as churches continue to take the next steps. The emphasis is to be intentional about worship as we reopen and perhaps move toward a hybrid model of both in-person and virtual worship. Can these two styles live together as we seek to be the body of Christ in our own place? What ought we consider setting aside from the “old normal” and what can we take up as we work to revitalize worship in the local setting? Join us for this important conversation.

“Worship Matters” is a podcast from the worship team of Discipleship Ministries, designed to deal with the intricacies of planning worship each week. Hosted by Dr. Cynthia Wilson, Executive Director of Worship Ministries and the Director of Liturgical Ministries; Dr. Diana Sanchez-Bushong, Director of Music Ministries; and Dr. Derek Weber, Director of Preaching Ministries, this podcast explores how to plan worship using the common lectionary while creating worship experiences and series that are engaging, relevant, and adaptable for any church setting.
