Understanding Path 1 Assessments: Unlocking the Full Potential of Assessment Results
By Marcelo Gomes

Assessments are an essential aspect of understanding an individual's strengths and weaknesses. At Path 1, we believe that assessments help us guide conversations around progress and possibilities. In this article, we will explore the three components of Path 1 assessments and discuss how they help us understand the potential of assessment results.
1. Ministry Perspective
Ministry perspective considers the missional mentality, worldview, and personal experience of the church and its ministry. It helps us understand how missional view and ministry experiences shape people’s approach to leadership development and ministry effectiveness. As we consider ministry perspective, we provide tailored feedback and help identify areas of growth that align with a church’s core beliefs.
2. Innovative Mindset
An innovative mindset helps us understand how individuals approach problem-solving and innovation in ministry. We look at individuals’ creative thinking, ability to adapt to change, and willingness to take risks to help them identify opportunities for growth and adaptability in ministry and leadership.
3. Relational Competency
Relational competency helps us understand an individual’s ability to connect and engage with others. It considers emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, and psychodynamics. By examining relational competency, we can help people identify areas of growth in their communication styles, conflict resolution skills, and relational dynamics within their church planting communities.
Unlocking the Full Potential of Assessment Results: At Path 1, we believe the key to unlocking the full potential of assessment results lies in taking an intentional approach. We understand that each aspect of the assessment gives us a different view of outcomes and the feedback we provide should be tailored to individual needs and context. We try to help individuals see the full picture of their leadership development and ministry effectiveness. We guide conversations around progress and possibilities, and we help people identify practical steps to achieve their goals that align with their core beliefs, innovative mindset, and relational competency.
