Could Your Church Use a Digital Estimate-of-Giving Card?
By Ken Sloane
We were asked several times during the pandemic if we knew of a website where folks could complete a digital estimate-of-giving card as part of the church’s annual campaign. We were not able to track down a site but recommended a PDF (Portable Document Format) card could be created where folks could fill in their information and simply attach the PDF to an email and send it to the church’s financial secretary or the church office in a confidential way.
While almost every computer has the software to open a PDF, not everyone has the software to create a fillable PDF. When asked this week if we could create one that would be adaptable for churches, we worked with our graphic designer and produced one.
There are two versions: one that also invites folks to visit the church’s online portal and set-up recurring electronic giving. The second is for churches that do not yet provide the option for electronic giving.
After you download the appropriate form, you'll need to do just a couple of things:
- Enter your church's name where indicated at top.
- Enter as many fund names as you want included in the boxes indicated. If you only have one fund, replace “add fund name if needed” with “skip this line.”
- Enter the email address that will receive the completed cards at the bottom where indicated.
- Enter the web address for your online giving website at the very bottom where indicated.
Once you have made these entries, you should “Save As” and give the file a new name and share that version with your members.
