Eat and Run

Journey's End / A New Start

Maundy Thursday, Year A

We may linger at the table for a few moments this evening. But we gather, already prepared to eat and run because the world needs us to be at work for the kin-dom.

Gracious Redeemer, you invite us to the table not for comfort, but for commissioning. As you washed feet and broke bread, you redefined greatness through service. Tonight, we offer more than gifts; we offer ourselves: ready to rise from this table, ready to run with towels and basins, ready to love as you have loved us. Bless these gifts and those who give, that they may be signs of hope in a world in need of healing, and fuel for a kin-dom on the move. In the name of Christ, who knelt, served, and gave. Amen. (Exodus 12:1-4, (5-10), 11-14, John 13:1-17, 31b-35)
