Among Your Own People

Becoming the People of God

Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany, Year B

As the title of today’s sermon indicates, discernment occurs from among the people. That is why we must nurture and support the work of discernment within communal worship.

As the community meets together for worship, fellowship, and learning, they are also listening for the call of God who will be working within certain individuals to cultivate gifts and inclinations that will lead them into certain roles within the life of the church.
