Safe Sanctuaries Youth Events Policies
Jesus, time and time again, spoke of the importance of young people being included and provided for within the community of faith. Our hope and belief today is that the church is a place where children and youth will find the unconditional love and care they so desperately need to grow and thrive.
These sample policies help organizers of events where youth are participants. The Traveling with Youth guidelines provide best practices consistent with Safe Sanctuaries® guidelines and policies while traveling with children youth, and vulnerable adults.

Safe Sanctuaries® is a “social structure that is consistent with the gospel” (¶122) allowing our sanctuaries, classrooms, mission encounters, camps and retreats, and all spaces where we gather to worship and serve God to be places of trust. As you develop and update your resources for keeping our most vulnerable safe from sexual abuse, remember that these and additional resources are available through Discipleship Ministries of The United Methodist Church.
