By Hyok In Kwon

<성찬 감사 기도>
<성찬송>
<성찬 제정사>
<분병례>
<성찬 나눔>

World Communion Sunday Service
CALL TO WORSHIP
Today is World Communion Sunday. At this moment, countless Christians across the globe, in diverse languages and cultures, are gathering at the Lord’s Table. This worship service is not merely the gathering of one local church, but a sacred feast for the whole body of Christ, united around the world.
In this hour, we transcend borders, languages, and the wounds of history. We are made one in Christ, our Lord. One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one Communion. We are one in the Lord.
Let us now come together with one heart and mind in the Spirit and worship God with all our being.
OPENING HYMN
“A Mighty Fortress Is Our God” (United Methodist Hymnal, 110)
RESPONSIVE READING
Psalm 100 (Responsive Reading 44)
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
The Apostles’ Creed
GLORIA PATRI “Glory Be to the Father” (United Methodist Hymnal, 70)
CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER
Lord, today we worship you alongside our siblings across the earth. Though we live with different languages and appearances, we are one family, one body of Christ gathered at this table.
Our world is still shaken by war and violence, division and injustice. Many are caught in suffering and exclusion. Yet amid this brokenness, you call us together and make us one.
Break down the walls built within our hearts. Remove the distances created by prejudice, fear, competition, and indifference. May we receive one another as your body around this table you have set before us.
As the bread we break is one, so may our lives be united in your love, becoming instruments of reconciliation in the world.
Let this Communion not remain a mere ritual. Let it be a channel of grace, restoring broken relationships, and may the peace that begins at this table spread into our homes, our communities, and to the ends of the earth.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING
Holy and merciful God,
From the beginning of creation, you have loved us and invited us to your table of grace. You made a covenant with Abraham, led your people into freedom through Moses, and called us through the prophets to live lives of justice and compassion.
In the fullness of time, you sent your Son Jesus Christ to dwell among us. He healed the sick, ate with sinners, and stood with the suffering. He died on the cross and rose again, defeating death and leading us into new life.
Therefore, with all the saints in heaven and on earth, we praise your holy name and sing:
SANCTUS
“Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty” (United Methodist Hymnal, 64)
WORD OF INSTITUTION
On the night he was betrayed, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
In the same way, he took the cup after supper and said: “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, poured out for many; whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of me.”
Therefore, as we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
EPICLESIS (Prayer for the Holy Spirit)
Lord, pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here and on these gifts of bread and wine.
Make us one body, one spirit in your love.
Unite churches across the world through this table.
Empower us to live as followers of Jesus Christ.
BREAKING OF THE BREAD
This bread is the body of Christ, broken for the life of the world.
(In silence, the presider breaks the bread and lifts it up.)
This cup is the blood of Christ, poured out for many, renewing us in grace.
(The cup is lifted in silence.)
Come now, all who are hungry and thirsty. Grace is already prepared.
DISTRIBUTION OF THE ELEMENTS
The body of Christ.
The blood of Christ.
(Meditative music or reflective hymn may accompany.)
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION
Living God, we have become one body by sharing this one bread. May the grace we have received at this table lead us to live as your church in the world.
Help us to do justice, to sow peace, and to stand as signs of your kingdom here on earth. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
OFFERING
Lord, Remembering the love you revealed at this table, we now offer our lives to you. With these small gifts, we give our whole selves. Receive them and use them for the healing of the world. Amen.
CLOSING HYMN
“Christ for the Whole Wide World” (New Korean Hymnal, 505)
BENEDICTION
Now may the grace of our risen Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with all who are united at this table and with all churches who share in the feast of the Lord from this day forth and forevermore. Amen.
