Darren Cushman Wood is the senior pastor of North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. A graduate of Union Theological Seminary, he is an adjunct professor of labor studies at Indiana University.

When our hope is stretched to break-ing by the fears that we con-fess.
Lift our heads to see your good-ness that se-cures our li-ber-ty.
Hail the days of res-ur-rec-tion! Christ has claimed the vic-to-ry!

Faith-ful ser-vants gath-er round us, bear-ing wit-ness to God’s might;
Show-ing us the way of courage, shin-ing the e-ter-nal light;
Lead us with the hope of Je-sus, Re-deem-er of his-to-ry.

Ri-ver flow-ing, life be-stow-ing, peo-ple sing-ing, tears are dried;
Leaves of heal-ing for the na-tions, gates of grace are o-pen wide.
Je-sus lifts us to the cit-y that re-veals hope’s mys-ter-y.
