Rev. Robin Crews Wilson Appointed Executive Director of Stakeholder Relationships at Discipleship Ministries

NASHVILLE, Tenn. March 15, 2024/Discipleship Ministries/ - Discipleship Ministries is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Robin Crews Wilson as the new Executive Director of Stakeholder Relationships, effective July 1, 2024. Rev. Wilson brings a wealth of experience in pastoral leadership and a deep commitment to fostering relationships within the United Methodist Church and beyond.

A native of Prattville, Alabama, Rev. Wilson began her journey in faith and leadership at First United Methodist Church. Her early roles as president of the youth group and district delegate laid the foundation for her lifelong dedication to ministry and service. Rev. Wilson is an alumna of Vanderbilt University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science, and Duke University Divinity School, where she received her Master of Divinity.

An ordained elder in The United Methodist Church, Rev. Wilson has served with distinction across the Alabama-West Florida Conference, including leadership roles in four large-membership congregations. Her current role as Director of the Healthy Clergy and Congregations Initiative showcases her dedication to the well-being and development of church leaders.

Rev. Wilson's leadership extends to significant conference and denominational responsibilities, including service on the annual conference board of trustees, the committee on standing rules, and the board of ordained ministry. Her peers have repeatedly elected her as a delegate to both the Southeastern Jurisdictional and General Conferences, recognizing her wisdom and dedication to the church's mission.

In addition to her ecclesiastical roles, Rev. Wilson is a respected educator and author. She has contributed to the spiritual growth and education of clergy through her work with the Alabama Course of Study at Emory University and Candler School of Theology's Teaching Parish Program. Her book, God Is with Us, and her contributions to the United Methodist Publishing House's curriculum underscore her commitment to accessible and impactful theological education.

As Executive Director of Stakeholder Relationships, Rev. Wilson will leverage her extensive experience and deep passion for discipleship to enhance Discipleship Ministries' engagement with its diverse community of leaders and stakeholders. Her visionary leadership and collaborative approach will be instrumental in advancing our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
