Ordinary Time is the official name of the season after the Epiphany. But after such an event, can anything truly be ordinary? While the ordinary in Ordinary Time doesn’t mean what it sounds like, we can’t help but make the correlation. But what if our ordinary time, our day-to-day living, was truly filled with and surrounded by the light of Christ? How might the ordinary become extraordinary? Because that is the reality of life after the coming of Christ. We live bathed in the light of the presence of Christ every day. Every moment, every encounter, every action, and every word is done in that presence. If only we would lift up our eyes to see what God is doing in and around us and, something by God’s grace, through us.
