Book
A handsome, helpful book of prayers and readings that includes — but goes beyond — the funeral itself and covers special circumstances, such as "Prayers at the Time of Death," "Receiving the Body into the Church," prayers at home after a funeral, memorials, and other circumstances. The prayers are both traditional and contemporary, and the book includes a section of poetry and reflections. For United Methodists and other churches with official ritual resources, this book offers an array of supplementary prayers, readings, and possibilities.
