We Remember Faithful Anna

Based on Luke 2:36-38
Recommended Tune: Nettleton an American folk melody, J. Wyeth's Repository of Sacred Music, Part Second (1813)
Meter: 87 87 D

We remember faithful Anna,
full of years and full of joy.
After many years of waiting
she saw Mary and her boy.
In the temple she found solace ??
heard the rabbis read the Word.
And her heart was warmed within her
as the baby's cry she heard.

She believed the sacred scripture,
set her hope on one to come.
After hearing Simeon's blessing
she proclaimed God's promised son.
May we now remembering Anna,
full of hope and full of prayer,
welcome Christ whose presence helps us
to be bearers of God's care.
