This hymn by the Rev. Nickolas Campbell is inspired by Charles Wesley's hymn, "Glory to God, and Praise and Love" (UM Hymnal, no. 58), the source of “O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing" (UM Hymnal, no. 57), and by "Depth of Mercy" (UM Hymnal, no. 355), the source of the phrase, "the chief of sinners." The Rev. Campbell is pastor of Nelson Memorial UMC in Boonville, Missouri.
