Strategic Marketing Director (exempt) – Reports to Chief Communications Officer
The Strategic Marketing Director position works to increase awareness and positive perception of Discipleship Ministries by promoting programs, services, resources, and events offered by the organization. Creates and executes innovative marketing strategies and advertising that strengthens the brand and its positioning. Provides leadership for the marketing team’s planning, development, processes and strategies. Oversees the promotion of various products and services for optimum results.
The successful candidate must have knowledge of branding and positioning of brands. Experience in traditional (print, TV etc.) with an emphasis in digital content marketing (online and social media marketing, mobile marketing, search engine marketing. Experience in developing advertising messages for large brands. Experience in client relationship, coaching, process management and improvement, customer focus, marketing research. Experience in using metrics tools such as Google Analytics and other traditional marketing reports. Background in marketing communications, product development, project management, copy writing and advertising production. Knowledge of creative design process and experience with design tools a plus. Knowledge and understanding of church/non-profit industry is needed. Knowledge of The United Methodist Church is necessary.
Education / Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
