A Prayer for Leadership
Lord Jesus, you gave us an example for leadership!
You sought counsel from Your Heavenly Father in quiet places where you could hear God’s voice.
You gave your disciples and those of us who follow you today an illustration of humility as a leader when you washed the feet of your followers.
Help us, we pray, to follow your example.
Let us seek guidance in all things – listening for that "still, small, voice."
Continue to remind us that we are to serve others through your perfect model – seeking God’s will in all we do.
Amen.

A Litany for John 13: 12-17 and Proverbs 3:5-6
(based on The Message)
One: Jesus said, "Do you understand what I have done for you?"
Many: Lord, we know that you are our Master and Teacher.
One: So, if I, who am your Master and Teacher have washed your feet, you must likewise wash the feet of others.
Many: You have indeed set the pattern for us, Lord. What you have done, we must do.
One: If you know these things, do them! Trust me from the bottom of your heart.
Many: We want to figure out everything on our own. Help us, Jesus, to trust more fully in you.
One: Listen for my voice in everything you do and everywhere you go.
Many: We assume we know it all, but only you will keep us on track.
All: Help us to listen and to serve others in love and humility.
