He Stood Before The City

Music: Blairgowrie by Ralph Harlow

Here is a new text for Palm Sunday by F. Richard Garland. He Stood Before the City, is rooted in the Palm Sunday Scriptures found in Matthew 21:1-11, Mark:11:1-10, and Luke 19:28-42. It is set to the tune Blairgowrie, which is known to many by its association with Ralph Harlow's hymn, O Young and Fearless Prophet. The choice is deliberate, as this new text seeks to link the Palm Sunday entry into Jerusalem to the prophetic ministry of Jesus, both then and now.
