Glorious And Blessed God (Liebster Jesulein)

The Rev. Gareth Hill, British Methodist pastor and hymn writer, has composed this text that closely parallels the words of John Wesley's Covenant Prayer. It would be especially appropriate for Watch Night or New Year's Day, or any occasion that observes the Covenant Service (see The United Methodist Book of Worship, page 288). It is in an unusual meter (7.8.7.5) and has been set to a new adaptation of the well-known Liebster Jesu tune found in The United Methodist Hymnal (no. 182).
