Gathering Meditation:  Just One More

Then Jesus asked, "Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they?
Was none of them found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?" (Luke 17:17-18, NRSV)

Jesus was looking for one more
More than the one we call outsider,
Who often has a stronger grasp of the faith
Than we.

Just one more
Of the baptized
To interrupt the busyness of the day
To pause from ritual and routine
To give thanks to the God who often remains
Obscured
By our preoccupation with the details
Of life.

Is there not one more?
Just one?
