Flooding

Open the ancient ravines.
The dry creek beds overflow.
Unknown springs erupt.
Underground rivers inundate the land.

And the waters rise, the rains fall:
Drowning eighteen-wheelers,
Causing houses to float,
Making cars swim,
Whisking away family members.

Water from the skies; a glimpse of Noah
Water from man-made barriers; a glimpse of Katrina.
