A resource produced by the Consultation on Common Texts, it includes an introduction with pastoral notes and full text with suggested Scripture texts. The resource also includes permission for congregations to copy the "Congregational Participation Aid."
Praying Together: English Language Liturgical Consultation (Nashville: Abingdon Press, 1988).
These texts, approved by the ELLC, include the Lord's Prayer, Kyrie Eleison, Gloria in Excelsis, the Nicene Creed, the Apostles' Creed, Benedictus, Magnificat, Nunc Dimittis, Sursum Corda, Sanctus Benedictus, Agnus Dei, Gloria Patri, Te Deum Laudamus, and commentary on each text. Permission is given to churches to use the liturgical texts -- provided that acknowledgment accompanies the use. Most recently published hymns and worship books contain these texts as official or alternative texts.
