WhenFebruary 13-15, 2018

Where: Epworth by the Sea
             St. Simons Island, GA

Registration Deadline: January 12, 2018

The 2018 CLM Staff/Leadership Network will take place from February 13-15, 2018, immediately before the 2018 ACDLSM Convocation at Epworth by the Sea, St. Simons Island, Georgia. Registration is scheduled from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. with dinner following at 5:30 p.m. on February 13. The CLM Staff/Leadership Network will conclude with an optional tour of Savannah, Georgia, on February 15. The agenda for this event intentionally overlaps with the ACDLSM Convocation as Certified Lay Ministry now resides under the umbrella of Lay Servant Ministries. It is our hope that this will reduce travel costs for those who are participating in both events. Event registration cost is $25.00. Registrants are responsible for their own lodging and meals by registering with Epworth. Please read details below carefully.  (If you are attending both the CLM/Staff Leadership Network and the ACDLSM Convocation, you must register for each event separately.)

The 2018 event is significant in that it connects us with our Wesleyan roots. John and Charles Wesley both spent significant time on this island! In fact, we will visit the site of Christ Church for evening prayer. The first worship services there were conducted by John Wesley, George Whitfield, and other clergy members of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel prior to the physical building of a church in 1820. The Savannah tour will take us to other John Wesley sites from his early ministry in the Americas. We are sure you won’t want to miss this, as Certified Lay Ministry is so closely tied to these Wesleyan roots. During this meeting, we will be discussing life post-General Conference 2016 and looking ahead to GC2020 as well as reviewing our CLM Guidelines. You will have an opportunity to share how Certified Lay Ministry is shaping up in your annual conference. It would be most helpful if you could also supply current stats for those who are now certified as lay ministers and how they are serving.
