Chinsegut Hill Executive Director’s Position

The Chinsegut Hill Retreat (see: is an approximately 115 acre area of wooded and secluded land that contains a newly refurbished 7,000 square foot three story manor house built in 1855. The grounds together with seven four bedroom cottages, dining hall and training hall facility provide an ideal gathering place for families, corporate events, weddings, service groups, religious outings and many diverse outings and occasions. 

The manor house, through a grant from the State of Florida has been spectacularly refurbished and brought to current standards of safety and modern conveniences. Some finer points of the remolding are yet to occur, but the manor house and grounds are fully functional in an ideal wooded setting. The need now is for the right person to serve as its executive director and general manager to develop and properly utilize this wonderful and historical setting. 

The Director will be responsible and report to the board of directors of "Friends of Chinsegut Hill", a non-profit entity solely responsible for the continued development and financial self sufficiency of a unique Hernando County owned facility. The daily functioning of the Chinsegut Hill complex including selecting and leading employees and volunteers to carry out the business and marketing plans and maintain the property will be the responsibilities of the Executive Director. 

Persons interested in exploring the position of "Director" (candidate), must have a record of training, experience and success in managing a hospitality venue including day to day, financial and execution duties of a well planned modern hospitality venue. 

Salary and benefits for the candidate are negotiable. The salary range is not strictly determined at this time but is in the range of $3,000.00 per month. A commission schedule providing additional income will be in effect. It should be pointed out that the salary is a beginning salary due to the need to establish the retreat as an ongoing sustainable non-profit venture. Considering the vast potential of the Chinsegut Hill facility, the growth of salary and commission benefits are anticipated to grow quickly for the person properly trained, experienced and motivated to excel at this rare opportunity.
