A Prayer-Poem for Those Who Are Wet
The heavens wrung torrents
till rivers stormed
devastation across the land
Night flung fury
With no regard
Then…
Silence…
always silence afterward
Quiet hugs
Clinging reassurance
Darting looks
Searching for life
Tears
Mingle grief and hope
Cries
Sigh what words refuse to speak
God
Here in our silence
In our sorrow
Sit with us and feel
Remind us to breathe and know You gave us life
For those who are dry,
ask what you can do for those who are wet.
