(Based on Hosea 11:1-11)
God,
Why are we so blind to your great love for us?
You take us up into your arms and heal us (Hosea 11:3).
You are to us like those who lift infants to their cheeks (Hosea 11:4).
You overwhelm us with the gift of a love that refuses to leave us on our own.
Forgive us, O God,
for the times we lamented that we were weathering the storms of life alone.
Forgive us, O God,
for the many times we have walked away from your love and refused to love one another.
Forgive us, O God,
for the times that we have heaped praises upon ourselves in public and been tempted to shovel blame at you in private.
Heal us again, O God, and teach us to walk faithfully in your sight.
