VOTE: Then Sing (Election Day Broadcast)

From The Hymn Society:

Election Day is often a contentious time, but this year feels different. Anxiety is at an all-time high and the day of the election will certainly be a time of both action and waiting. Once you've voted (and PLEASE VOTE!), volunteered, and done your daily work, there's usually only one thing to do – watch the news for each and every update. But if your spirit needs a break, if your soul needs a rest, if you feel anxiety and fear taking over, then this is your opportunity to turn toward God. Singing together is something that brings about unity, reconciliation, and peace. We hope that this broadcast of hymns and songs will be a ministry of peace in a time of trouble.

This 12-hour broadcast (via YouTube Live) will be hosted by Center Director Brian Hehn. Starting at 12 p.m. CDT and ending at 12 a.m. CDT, each hour will begin with about 10 minutes of pastoral presence from pastors and music ministers from across the U.S. and Canada who will join Brian for prayer, scripture readings, poems, or just a good word. The rest of the hour will be filled with hymns and songs specifically chosen for this event. Both pre-recorded selections and live music-making will be featured from artists such as Tom Trenney, Rylan A. Harris, Donte Ford, Ken Medema, CC Sunchild, Tony Alonso, The Porter's Gate Worship Project, Aaron Strumpel, Thiago Nascimento, Common Hymnal, Daphna Mor, Paul Vasile, and more.
