By Derek Weber

In this episode, Director of Music Ministries, Dr. Diana Sanchez-Bushong, and Director of Preaching Ministries, Dr. Derek Weber, regather with part of the panel from early last summer to talk about what is new and what priorities have changed a year into the pandemic response. Listen in as we learn from Rev. Joe Stobaugh, Senior Minister at University Park UMC, Dallas, Texas; Keum Hwang, Music Ministries Director at First UMC Heath, Texas; and Dr. Andrew Scanlan-Holmes, Pastor at Roberts Park UMC in Indianapolis, Indiana, as we discuss plans and hopes and possibilities for the church in this new world post-pandemic.

“Worship Matters” is a podcast from the worship team of Discipleship Ministries, designed to deal with the intricacies of planning worship each week. Hosted by Dr. Cynthia Wilson, Executive Director of Worship Ministries and the Director of Liturgical Ministries; Dr. Diana Sanchez-Bushong, Director of Music Ministries; and Dr. Derek Weber, Director of Preaching Ministries, this podcast explores how to plan worship using the common lectionary while creating worship experiences and series that are engaging, relevant, and adaptable for any church setting.

Rev. Dr. Derek Weber, Director of Preaching Ministries, served churches in Indiana and Arkansas and the British Methodist Church. His PhD is from University of Edinburgh in preaching and media. He has taught preaching in seminary and conference settings for more than 20 years.
