Spring 2021 Teaching Churches Named
By Paul Nixon
We are excited to announce that Embrace Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and First United Methodist Church, Colorado Springs, Colorado, will serve as teaching churches for spring 2021 edition of Churches Planting Churches.
Churches Planting Churches is a learning experience designed for church leaders who will be adopting a multi-site ministry strategy and for churches that have already begun such a strategy but would like to improve its effectiveness.
To date, fifty-seven United Methodist congregations have enrolled as learning churches for multisite ministry, involving a variety of scenarios, including mergers, second campuses, and cooperative parishes. The spring 2021 edition of Churches Planting Churches will be entirely digital. The digital summit will be spread across six Tuesday afternoons, starting April 13, 2021, and concluding May 18. The sessions run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Central time. Participating churches take the Readiness 360 inventory and work with a coach for another seven months. The cost per church team for the full year is $1,900, plus a few books.
About the Teaching Churches
Embrace Church is eleven years old with 3,000 weekly worshipers in multiple locations. It was one of the fastest growing United Methodist congregations in the last decade.
First Church Colorado Springs was a Churches Planting Churches learning church in our fall 2018 cohort. It has since launched a second site successfully. Church leaders will share their experience in a long-established church that is multiplying its ministry.
