Pioneering Missional Communities
The Holy Spirit is at work in churches throughout the world and we are seeing new faith communities spring up in unexpected places. From dog parks and pubs to preschools and tattoo parlors, people are gathering in spaces outside of the church longing to connect to God and each other.
Pioneering Missional Communities is a training and resource that will help pastors and laity to find creative ways to go out from their place of worship to connect with people outside of the church and help them birth a new a faith community.
There is no expectation that these groups will come to worship on a Sunday morning or even enter into the main church space, but these groups are connected to the church and are an extension of the life of the church. These communities are usually led by lay people, but if they desire baptism or holy communion, the pastor can walk alongside the lay leadership to offer the sacraments to this missional community.
