Global Church Planting Training Underway
By Paul Nixon
For five consecutive Mondays this summer, Methodist church planters from five continents are gathering together digitally to experience a global edition of the Launchpad church planter training that was created by Discipleship Ministries.
Staff members Bener Agtarap and Paul Nixon are leading this training, which will be augmented by modules and testimonies from veteran church planters. The training is designed for contextualization – teaching principles without prescribing methodologies. From Laos to Australia to Wales to Rio de Janeiro to New Mexico – planting strategies vary widely. In spite of distance and differences, the planters are bonding and developing a sense of partnership with a global team.
This is the first basic planter training to be offered by The United Methodist Church globally with people logging on at all times of day and night to learn and share together.
