This document still rings true two years after its first publication. In it are definitions of what is a new United Methodist faith community, as well as church planting strategies, racial-ethnic church planting, women in church planting, and reaching younger people.

Based on a nationwide study of 17 denominations engaged in church planting, this report summarizes findings for The United Methodist Church. It provides recommendations for creating new places for new people in the years ahead and is inclusive of new and fresh expressions of the church.
