Building the Beloved Community May Session Focuses on Connection & Engagement
By Bryan Tener
Our monthly webinar series, “Building the Beloved Community,” continues in May with a focus on connecting with and engaging young people in our communities. Our guest will be Dr. Meredith Bell, coordinator of emerging leaders in the Central Texas Conference. She is experienced with cultivating young leaders through campus ministry and developing resources that guide young adults through service and social justice, while deepening and growing their spiritual practices. In her work in Central Texas, Bell works to help develop young adults into Christian leaders in their churches, schools, and community. She has served in ministry roles ranging from pastor of women’s ministry in Southlake, Texas, to youth ministry, evangelism, pastoral care, and campus ministry at UCF Wesley at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas.
In our time together, we will discuss reaching young people and developing their gifts and passions so that they will more effectively engage their community in ways that help them live out their calling. We’ll look at best practices for making those connections in your own context and discuss ways in which developing leadership in young adults takes place and what it looks like to create opportunities for them to engage their communities in social justice and service.
This webinar takes place on Thursday, May 19, at 11 a.m. CDT. It will be recorded and available for purchase after this series has concluded in December.
