Director of Marketing, Upper Room Editions (exempt), Reports to Executive Director, Upper Room Publishing – Location – Nashville, TN
The Director of Marketing, Upper Room Editions sets the strategic direction for all facets of The Upper Room magazine marketing, promotion, and circulation for all language editions (approximately 35 editions). Responsible for forecasting sales performance and meeting established revenue goals. Directs implementation of plans accessing internal staff resources and contract vendors as appropriate. Detailed analysis of results to determine effectiveness of plans and adjustments for future efforts. Proactively supports marketing efforts internationally and establishes a “think global” perspective to the marketing function. Responsible for market expansion, circulation growth, customer retention, and driving revenue according to established plans.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated working knowledge of current marketing theories and technique; fluency with social media tools; ability to work in a cross-functional collaborative environment; proficiency in applicable software applications, and ability to efficiently adopt and use new software tools, knowledge of, or strong ability to research, the demographic groups being served by this department and ability to track to results.
Education / Specialized Knowledge / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalency. Advanced degree or post-graduate education preferred / Familiarity with any, or all, of the following a plus: spiritual formation, virtual communities, crowd-sourced content, digital publishing, marketing and promotional knowledge; bilingual is a plus / 5+ years of related experience.
