Director for Healing and Resilience

Director for Healing and Resilience, (Exempt), Reports to Executive Director of Program/Dean of Chapel – The Upper Room

The Director for Healing and Resilience is responsible for creating and managing a program that provides emotional and mental health-based resources, tools and retreats for pastors and leaders in need. The ideal candidate is responsible for creating relationships and partnerships with seminaries and church governing organizations such as annual conferences, synods, ecclesiastical jurisdictions, and others with the purpose of offering The Upper Room approved trainings and resourcing.

This position will be responsible for creating hybrid national/global teams to plan, staff, lead and report on effective resilience retreats, courses, and workshops for pastors and leaders. These events and resources will be opportunities for participants to learn resilience skills, gain mental health resources and practice rest.

The applicant will work directly with staff in marketing and innovation, finance, adaptive content, program, and other staff of Discipleship Ministries as needed to carry out duties (e.g., building webpage on TUR’s URL, creating branded products, creating deliverable content for use in the program).


Work from home position - Anywhere

Education / Experience

Master’s degree in religion, public relations, social work, or related field.

License, Certification or Credentials in trauma, grief, or mental health field.

Three or more years at a director level; experience leading retreats, experience working with ordained clergy and lay leaders. Experience in conflict resolution and crisis management.
